17th Hole Closest to the Pin Contest Scores for Charity
Sunday’s Pepsi Pro-Am Features a Dozen Main Field Players
BARRINGTON, Rhode Island (June 14, 2012) – CVS Caremark Charity Classic co-hosts Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade today announced the player-charity match-ups for the tournament’s closest to pin contest to be held during the 2012 CVS Caremark Charity Classic, June 17-19 at Rhode Island Country Club.
The tournament’s unique charitable closest to the pin contest pairs each of the 20 professionals on the roster with one of the tournament’s charity partners. Each day of the two-day tournament, the golfer whose tee shot lands closest to the pin on the 17th hole wins $25,000 for the charity for which they are playing. Fans can root for their favorite charity by cheering on the golfers.
The player-charity pairings are:

- Mark Calcavecchia will be playing for City Year Rhode Island
- John Cook will be playing for the Arthritis Foundation
- Brad Faxon will be playing for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence
- Fred Funk will be playing for the Sojourner House
- Jay Haas will be playing for Rhode Island Family Shelter
- Juli Inkster will be playing for the Autism Project
- Peter Jacobsen will be playing for Button Hole
- Cristie Kerr will be playing for Tides Family Services
- Brittany Lincicome will be playing for Serve RI
- Lorena Ochoa will be playing for Meeting Street
- Corey Pavin will be playing for Youth Pride, Inc.
- Suzann Pettersen will be playing for Children’s Wishes
- Morgan Pressel will be playing for Bradley Hospital
- Jeff Sluman will be playing for The Learning Center for the Deaf
- Annika Sorenstam will be playing for the American Heart Association
- Lexi Thompson will be playing for the Red Cross
- Yani Tseng will be playing for Highlander School

Pepsi Pro-Am
Kicking off the 2012 CVS Caremark Charity Classic is the annual Pepsi Pro-Am on Sunday, June 17th. A dozen of the tournament’s main field players will be on hand participating in the Pepsi Pro-Am which features a shotgun start at both 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Professional players scheduled to play in the popular Pepsi Pro-Am include, among others, Billy Andrade, Brad Faxon, Mark Calcavecchia, Juli Inkster, Cristie Kerr, Brittany Lincicome, Morgan Pressel, Brett Quigley, Dana Quigley, Jeff Sluman, Lexi Thompson and Yani Tseng. Tickets for the 2012 CVS Caremark Charity Classic are available through a special offer at CVS/pharmacy stores in Rhode Island as well as select CVS/pharmacy locations in Southeastern Massachusetts. In addition, fans can purchase a three-day pass ($60) or single, good-any-day tickets ($25) by calling 866-CVS-944. Children 17 and under are free with a ticketed adult. The tournament also offers tickets to the Wine Pavilion presented by Robert Mondavi Private Selection. Open to attendees ages 21 or older, the Wine Pavilion is located between the 16th and 17th fairways along Narragansett Bay and offers daily food and wine samplings provided by award-winning Robert Mondavi, Clos Du Bois and Blackstone wines. Offering spectacular, close-up views of tournament play, tickets to the pavilion tent are $50 per day.
