CVS CAREMARK CHARITY CLASSIC ANNOUNCES FINAL FOUR GOLFERS FOR 2011 FIELD
Top LPGA and PGA Pros Join Elite Field That Boasts Game’s Top Stars
BARRINGTON, RHODE ISLAND (June 2, 2011) – CVS Caremark Charity Classic officials today announced the final professional golfers who will round out the 20-player roster for the June 19-21 CVS Caremark Charity Classic.
Coming off her recent win at the 2011 Sybase Match Play Championship, LPGA star Suzann Pettersen joins the field. Currently ranked second in the women’s Rolex Rankings, Pettersen, who will be making her second appearance at the CVS Caremark Charity Classic, earned three additional top-10 finishes this season.
New to the tournament this year is young gun Jhonattan Vegas who broke onto the 2011 season winning the first place title at the Bob Hope Classic, the first rookie to win the storied event. In addition, he placed third at the Farmers Insurance Open and posted two additional top-10 finishes so far this season.
Joining Vegas will be Gary Woodland and Bill Haas who both faced Vegas in a playoff battle for the Bob Hope Classic title earlier this year. Woodland, who is making his inaugural appearance at the CVS Caremark Charity Classic, went on to win the Transitions Championship and post three other top-10 finishes. Haas is also enjoying a strong season posting five top-10 finishes so far. Haas, who won the 2004 CVS Caremark Charity Classic when paired with his father Jay Haas, is making his fourth appearance.
These four outstanding players join tournament co-hosts Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade and a cadre of top PGA, Champions and LPGA Tour pros including Ricky Barnes, Paula Creamer, Ben Crenshaw, Rickie Fowler, J.B. Holmes, Juli Inkster, Peter Jacobsen, Zach Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Davis Love III, Morgan Pressel, Brett Quigley, Brandt Snedeker and Camilo Villegas.

The CVS Caremark Charity Classic uniquely offers sports enthusiasts the chance to enjoy world-class golf in a relaxed atmosphere while helping to support hundreds of New England area charities. Tournament week begins with the Pepsi Pro-Am on Sunday, June 19 followed by the two-day tournament on Monday, June 20-Tuesday, June, 21 at the Rhode Island Country Club.

Open to attendees ages 21 or older, the Wine Pavilion is located between the 15th and 16th fairways along Narragansett Bay and offers daily food and wine pairings from Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and award-winning Robert Mondavi Clos Du Bois and Blackstone wines.
