CVS CAREMARK CHARITY CLASSIC ANNOUNCES 17th HoLE CLOSEST TO THE PIN CHARITY/PRO Pairings
Closest to the Pin Contest on Rhode Island Country Club Signature Hole to Result
in $50,000 of Charitable Donations
BARRINGTON, Rhode Island (June 16, 2011) – CVS Caremark Charity Classic co-hosts Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade today announced the player-charity ties for the tournament’s new closest to pin contest to be held during the 2011 CVS Caremark Charity Classic, June 19-21 at Rhode Island Country Club.
New this year, the tournament has added a closest to the pin contest with a charitable twist. Each of the 20 professionals on the roster for the 2011 CVS Caremark Charity Classic will be paired with one of the tournament’s charity partners. Each day of the two-day tournament, the golfer whose tee shot lands closest to the pin on the 17th hole wins $25,000 for the charity for which they are playing. Fans can root for their favorite charity by cheering on the golfers.

- Bill Haas will be playing for the Arthritis Foundation
- J.B. Holmes will be playing for the American Heart Association
- Juli Inkster will be playing for the March of Dimes, RI Chapter
- Peter Jacobsen will be playing for Youth Pride
- Zach Johnson will be playing for Save The Bay
- Matt Kuchar will be playing for the Special Olympics
- Davis Love III will be playing for Tides Family Services
- Suzann Pettersen will be playing for Sojourner House
- Morgan Pressel will be playing for Rhode Island Family Shelter

The CVS Caremark Charity Classic uniquely offers sports enthusiasts the chance to enjoy world-class golf in a relaxed atmosphere while helping to support hundreds of New England area charities.

In addition, fans can purchase tickets to the event. A three-day pass is $60. Single, good-any-day tickets are $25. Children 17 and under are free with a ticketed adult. The tournament also offers tickets to the Robert Mondavi Private Selection Wine Pavilion. Open to attendees ages 21 or older, the Wine Pavilion is located between the 15th and 16th fairways along Narragansett Bay and offers daily food and wine pairings from Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and award-winning Robert Mondavi Clos Du Bois and Blackstone wines.
