Biography
Golf great Annika Sorenstam returns for her second CVS Caremark Charity Classic appearance. The Hall of Famer has 89 total career wins, including 72 LPGA victories, ten of which are majors. She was named Rolex Player of the Year eight times during her 15-year career and had a record six Vare Trophies for the season’s lowest scoring average. Her list of distinguished honors include eight Golf Writers Association of America Female Player of the Year Awards, eight ESPY Awards, three Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year awards, two European Player of the Year titles, and the 2003 Patty Berg Award for her contributions to women’s golf. Pairing her passion for both golf and physical fitness, Sorenstam founded the ANNIKA Foundation in 2007 to help teach children the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle while also offering aspiring junior golfers additional opportunities to pursue their dreams.
